3 days gorilla trekking In Uganda Bwindi forest

Drive to Bwindi Forest national park for Gorilla trekking
Early in the morning, your Guide will pick you from you overnight accommodation and drive you to Bwindi forest National Park for your adventurous encounter with the gently eyed mountain gorillas. En route, you may have the chance of seeing other primates like the olive baboons, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and several others. You may have a stop at the equator for a photo shoot while standing on both sides of the earth at the same time. Carry on and enjoy your lunch on the way. Bwindi forest is a cold National Park nestled in the south Western part of Uganda. This Park makes up part of the Virunga volcanic area where mountain gorillas are residents. It is divided into the two gorilla trekking areas that is to say the Northern gorilla trekking sector made up of 5 gorilla trekking families and the Southern gorilla trekking sector made up of 6 gorilla trekking families.  The drive may take about 9 to 10 hours but scenic as you wind around the cornical hills of Kigezi to get to the moist Bwindi forest area which is at times called the impenetrable park. Arrive and check into your preferred accommodation.

Day 2: gorilla trekking
Gorilla trekking day in Bwindi impenetrable National Park. Rise up for breakfast and head to the ranger station for briefing after breakfast. Remember to carry your packed lunch because the time of returning from your gorilla trek is not known. You are given a gorilla group to trek after briefing and only 8 persons are allowed to trek a particular family. The Gorilla trek may take between 2 hours to 9 hours in the forest. Your ranger guide will brief you about how to behave while in the jungle. Mountain gorillas have a life similar to humans so in case you catch a cold to have any communicable disease, it is better to volunteer and stay behind to avoid spreading this disease to the gorillas. On the way, you may have the chance of meeting other primates like the grey checked mangabey, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and several others. Bwindi forest has a rich avian life that is one of the highly recognised birding sites in Africa. The gorillas may get to see you before you spotting them so you must be keen with the rules of gorilla trekking given to you before going into the forest. When you finally get to see the gorillas, you may shiver because of their sheer size but show no sign of fright because it agitates them. Stand at a distance of about 7 meters away from them and take there photographs as instructed by the ranger guide. Only an hour is permitted in there presence so you have to use it to the maximum. Return to you lodge carrying only memories of your gorilla trek.
