How to organize a 7 day fly-in gorilla trekking and wildlife safari, when to go gorilla tracking, and what to wear for gorilla tracking
Day1: Drive to Bwindi
Forest National Park
Rise up early in the morning for breakfast and your driver
guide will pick you from your overnight hotel or guest house to drive you to
Bwindi forest national park the home of the mountain gorillas. They live in the
thick impenetrable forest in gorilla trekking families headed by a silverback
which is the dominant male. The journey is quite long but scenic as you view
the rolling hills of Kigezi, meandering rivers and so much more. Arrive in the
evening ready for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest
Rise up early for breakfast and head to the ranger station
for briefing. Remember to carry your lunch and drinking water to quench your
thirst as you trek to see the gorillas. The time of finding the gorillas is
unpredictable because of their regular movements. Carry on walking through the
thick forest where you may have the chance of seeing other primates like the
olive baboons, vervet monkeys, grey checked mangabey and so much more. The
gorillas may get to see you before you do because they are very keen with foreigners
in there environ. When you finally get to see them, wait to take there pictures
because the ranger guide has to first observe them then finally he will advise
you to take the pictures. Observe there movement and the way they play from the
vines. Return the the lodge and relax
Day 3: Gorilla
trekking the second day
Having viewed the gorillas the first day, head to the ranger
station for another day of gorillas trekking. You will be briefed about the
gorillas again because there behavior changes and that is why you follow the
trail where they were last seen the previous day. Carry on and when you finally
get to see them, stay with them for just an hour observing them and taking
there pictures. Return to the lodge and relax.
Day 4: flying to Murchison Falls National Park
Rise up early in the morning for breakfast and drive to
Murchison Falls National Park. This pack is bisected by River Nile which is the
longest river in Africa. Home to a
number of wild animals like lions, giraffes, leopards, water bucks, bush bucks,
elephants, warthogs and so much more. Relax at you lodge
Day 5: Game drive and Lunch cruise
Get up early in the morning for an early morning game drive
in the northern sector of the park. You may have the chance of seeing animals
like leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, rich bird life, scenic highlands
and so much more. Return for late day breakfast and head to the pier after
lunch for a boat cruise on the Nile. You will get closer to Murchison falls
where the Nile squeezes through the narrow gorge to join the rest of the Nile
course. Take its photographs and return home.
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking
Rise up early in the morning for breakfast and head for
chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest National Park. You will be briefed about
the behaviors of the chimpanzees, follow them till when you finally get to meet
them. Stay with them for just an hour and return to your lodge to relax.
Day 7 Return home
Having enjoyed your fly-in 7day gorilla trekking and
wildlife safari fly back to Entebbe to catch up with your flight back home.
